One thing is blissfully obvious to anyone who walks through our front doors: We know how to have a good time. Whether there's an all-girl mariachi band serenading us while we celebrate a record day or just a ridiculous amount of cupcakes being passed around (a regular occurrence), R29 staffers tend not to see the boundaries between work, play, and a kick-ass creative brainstorm.


Our roots go deep in fashion and beauty — but what makes our team run like a well-oiled machine is the fact that we come from all walks of life. If you're looking to get down with some R29ers after hours, we suggest heading up to your nearest rooftop. You'll likely find our editors, designers, photogs, developers, execs, analysts, and the rest mixing and mingling in honor of Fashion Week, Internet Week, or, you know, Tuesday.


Our work ethic, in a word? We'll never rest on our laurels (yes, we're aware that is six words, but let's focus on the task at hand). Our quarterly company meetings are some of the most energizing moments in our offices, uniting members from all teams to recap ever-inspiring success — and get set for what's next. Looking forward, onward, and upward is just a standard state of mind around here. 


Our big, bold, site-wide relaunch was counted among the "15 Most Innovative Redesigns of 2013." The list also included Harper's Bazaar, NPR, Audi, Instagram, The New York Times, and Google. Good company, huh?

Refinery29 Named No. 2 Most Innovative Company in Style!

Fast Company called R29 the No. 2 most innovative company in style in 2014 — and we might be biased here but we kind of agree. It took the words right out of our mouths: "The site, which launched in 2005 for $5,000, has raised more than $30 million in funding and serves 10 million-plus visitors each month. The company has prowess when it comes to converting users; its content carefully mixes aspirational products, a tongue-in-cheek tone, and snippets of news for savvy young professional women."
